Fiji Day 5
Day 5 was yet another relaxing day in paradise. Seeing as though there were no early activities, we all enjoyed a sleep in until about 9.15am before heading off to breakfast.
The highlight of the day was the 1 hour snorkelling safari that we all went on. This involved taking a glass bottomed boat to the reef drop of zone and then slowly snorkelling along the drop off zone for around 45 minutes to an hour.
The coral was not as colourful as that at the Whitsundays however the fish were just as colourful and plentiful. The kids had a great time and even did some duck diving to take closer look at the coral and the fish. The drop of zone is amazing, it literally goes from around 2 – 3 metres in depth to 20 metres. Not many ventured beyond the drop of zone as discussions pertaining to sharks and sea snakes scared most off.
After snorkelling it was time for lunch – a huge Tandoori chicken pizza – followed by an exploration of the resort. We found the beach side chapel which was absolutely beautiful – unfortunately I dd not have the camera so no photos.
So you know the house in the pictures on Day 5 used to belong to Christopher Skase – it is now unused and derelict. The guy with Talia and Zac is Bulli. Bulli works in one of the bars and runs the kids discos between 7.30p and 8.30p. He is fantastic with the kids.
After the exploration, it was back to the pool for more swimming and an ice cream. The kids are having a baby sitter tonight as Jacqui and I are taking a romantic 5 course, butler served dinner in a Cabana looking over the lagoon. Photos of this will be published tomorrow.
So what does tomorrow bring: swimming, snorkelling and the finishes with a Polynesian dinner and fire walking exhibition.
So until then...
