Fiji Day 4
Day 4 in Fiji was certainly less adventurous however no less enjoyable. The kids joined in on the kids club activities today which included going out onto the reef in a glass bottomed boat to see the coral and sea life. It also gave them a great opportunity to meet some other kids their age.
There was a reason for them attending kids club and that was the pending 1 hour massage that Jacqui and I enjoyed at the Beach Massage Bure. This was an hour of absolute peace and tranquillity and I am sure I fell asleep a couple of times.
After the massage it was off to pick up the kids and then some lunch at the beach side Bar and Grill. As I have said before, this is a really tough life. Post lunch it was off to the pool for a couple of hours before grabbing a couple of sea canoes and checking out the reef and coral by boat. At least we are still doing some exercise. As the water was so clear we were able to see both the fish and coral from the canoe which was great.
Post canoeing more time spent at the pool followed by drinks at the Bilo Bar. It was then 5.30pm so we witnessed a traditional torch lighting ceremony. This dates back to the times before power when the chief of the village at sunset organised for all the torches around the village to be lit so they had light to see.
After the ceremony we proceeded into the normal evening ritual of happy hour, followed by dinner at the buffet restaurant (Asian and Thai food tonight – very tasty) and then onto the kids disco.
Until tomorrow
